Many use the proprietary rectangular rechargeable batteries so Im not going to list them all here.
The advantage of the rectangulars is cameras can be made smaller (if you consider smaller cameras an advantage). They can have a long life but many are ruined quickly due to improper charging.
Their disadvantage is replacement cost is high and they arent always easy to find in local retailers
I prefer cameras which use AA size. AA size are also available as rechargeable Ni-Mh. Their cost is much lower and they are readily available. If you find yourself with discharged AA rechargeables you can substitute AA alkalines or Lithium batteries. Ive had rechargeable AA Ni-Mh for 5 years still going strong.
Edit:
Its untrue that cameras using AA batteries eat them for lunch. That statement is ONLY true for AA alkaline batteries. As I mentioned above use those in a pinch only. High rated 2650mah Ni-Mh batteries have excellent camera life and AA lithium have even longer camera life. Lithium are expensive though and not rechargeable.
"However, the Li-On battery does have a shorter useful life, in terms of time, than NiMH batteries. A Li-Ion rechargeable battery will last about three years, starting from the time of manufacture, versus about five years for a NiMH battery. Unless you're a professional photographer, It's likely that you'll never reach the maximum number of charge/discharge cycles, before the three years is up, and the Li-Ion battery begins losing capacity. There are ways to extend the life of Li-Ion batteries, specifically by storing them in a cold place (but never freezing them)."
